Life in 2009 remains a challenge. We are blessed in the Twin Cities to have marvelous outdoor venues and a culture that supports sharing live music. What better stress reliever is there than the combination of a beautiful summer evening, a light breeze, great music and some bad (but funny!) jokes. If we can't be there live check out our CDs or download your favorite SB3 or Big Bone Band tunes through our various digital distribution networks.

Many years ago I had the good fortune to hear Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul, and Mary in concert. His comment at the end of the concert has been something I've treasured and aspired to ever since. He said "Tonight I felt we shared our music with you rather than played it at you." My goal is to share the music with you whether it's at a concert, through a recording, or through this website. Stan Bann's Big Bone Band At O'Gara's 6/9

Stan Bann's Big Bone Band will be at O'Gara's this coming Tuesday (6/9) from 8:00-10:30. Come by and catch the first glimpse of this swinging, high octane low brass jazz ensemble! The band touts some of the best trombone and low brass talent in town.
"The dynamic and emotional range of this instrumentation is astounding," says founder and creative director Stan Bann. "I'm extremely excited about this ensemble and the chance to share our music with the Twin Cities. This is a sound whose richness and power must be experienced live!"

Stan Bann's BIG BONE BAND!!
Stan Bann and Stan Bann Music are proud to announce the formation and 2009 summer schedule for Stan Bann's Big Bone Band, a thirteen piece jazz trombone / euphonium / tuba ensemble.
"The Big Bone Band is a slightly smaller but immensely more flexible format than SB3," said the band's founder and creative director Stan Bann. "I recorded this instrumentation last spring. People who've heard the recordings are impressed by the group's warmth, emotional range, power, and drive. They don't miss the other big band instruments and are often surprised when they're reminded they're hearing only low brass and rhtyhm."
The music for the Big Bone Band consists of original works by composer/arranger Stan Bann plus special settings of standard tunes for jazz trombone ensemble by many of the top writers in the country.
Stan Bann's Big Bone Band will be performing live concerts in Twin Cities area parks this summer including:
- Centennial Lakes, Edina on Sunday, June 28th (7:00 PM)
- Como Park Pavilion, St. Paul on Sunday, July 12th (7:00 PM)
- Normandale Lake, Bloomington on Tuesday, July 21st (7:00 PM)
- Lake Harriet Bandshell, Minneapolis, on Tuesday July 28th (7:30 PM)
