Stan Bann has released three albums; two with his internationally reknown Stan Bann Big Band (SB3) and one as a solo artist.
"Penmanship" is Stan's most recent album featuring his original writing and orchestrations for low brass choir (trombones, euphoniums, tubas, and rhythm section). This unique blend of low brass and jazz rhythm section is the foundation of his Stan Bann's Big Bone Band (SB4).
"Good Intentions" (1997) and "Stratford Blue" (2002) featured Stan's 18 piece big band that was a staple on the Twin Cities jazz scene for over 20 years
In addition to leading and writing for his own ensembles Stan's music is in demand by other performing groups around the country. He has written for everything from small chamber ensembles to full 300+ piece marching bands. Stylistically he has written intimate, reflective pieces, fanfares, full orchestral works, and swinging jazz.
